Local Area

The busy market town of Caernarfon is the County Town of Gwynedd and is a major Tourist Centre. Caernarfon has a strong Welsh heritage, with over 70% of the local population speaking Welsh as their first language, with Welsh to English translations extensively used, you will be assured a very warm welcome when you visit our inspirational and spectacularly beautiful local area.
Some of the very best tourist attractions that North Wales has to offer are very close to Caernarfon!

Caernarfon’s famous 13th century castle is very close – a stunningly impressive World Heritage Site, and being so close to the Menai Staits, with its glorious views across the Straits to Anglesey and beyond, makes us an ideal base for walking and exploring the outstanding local coastline.

Caer Menai’s enviable position also means that you are close to some great local shopping, restaurants and bar facilities.

World Listed Heritage Site

Having one of the few complete Walled Towns in Britain and we are just a short walk from the fortress built by King Edward 1 in the late 13th Century, Caernarfon is a World Listed Heritage site and the local area is steeped in centuries of History dating back to pre-Roman times.

Oustanding Walks

There are outstanding walks in our local area, and our nearby spectacular Llyn Peninsular Coastal Path extends through an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.Caernarfon also boasts a host of Shops, Restaurants, Pubs and Craft Shops. Sports facilities are available at the Leisure Centre and we have several outstanding Golf Clubs in the area – indeed our local area really does offer something for all!

Visit Snowdonia

Caernarfon is an ideal location for visiting not only the Royal Town, but also the many attractions of North West Wales. We are just seven miles from the spectacular town of Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and England. A myriad of walks and scrambles, for the casual weekender, to the ardent enthusiast are also available close by.

Lots to See!

The world famous Italianatevillage of Portmeirion is open all year and not to be missed. The cult T.V. series “The Prisoner” with Patrick McGoohan was filmed here, and it makes a great day trip from Caernarfon!
A visit across the Menai Straits to Anglesey’s beaches and attractions is also a “must do” activity.

Lovely rooms, exceptionally clean. Delicious breakfast and excellent host
Rebecca Bedford

Lovely place to stay the hosts made us very welcome and at home. I went with my son, so had a twin bedded room. It was fantastic and immaculately kept. Modern decor, light and airy. The choice for breakfast was really good, with fruit, cheese, meats, plus full English. Will be booking again.
